GIC is pleased to announce the launch of WRAP Compliance, a new scheme that GIC has in collaboration with a Peru registered WRAP monitor – CERTINT.
The Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production (WRAP) program is the world’s largest factory certification program focused on the apparel, footwear and sewn products sectors. Factories receive a certification of six months to two years based on compliance with the 12 WRAP Principles, which are based on generally accepted international workplace standards, local laws and workplace regulations that encompass human resources management, health and safety, environmental practices, and legal compliance also including import/export and customs compliance and security standards.
GIC is the exclusive representative of CERTINT for WRAP compliance certification in Asia. It marks the first step of GIC towards social compliance audit and meets the objective of GIC offering a wider range of value-added certification schemes to our customers. (Source GIC Singapore website) |
